How to Apply

PhD & Postdoc Applications

To apply, send an email to mtang4@ucmerced.edu with the subject line matching the position title. Include:

  1. A CV with a full list of publications
  2. A cover letter describing your research interests and motivation
  3. Contact information for 2–3 references
  4. For PhD applicants: a copy of your MSc thesis (if completed)

Note: Graduate applications must go through the University of California, Merced Graduate Division.

Student Projects

For Master's and Bachelor's thesis proposals, please send your CV and a short paragraph explaining your background and interest in the specific project. We also welcome unsolicited project proposals that align with our research interests.

Research Visits

We occasionally host visiting researchers and students. If you are interested in a short-term research visit, please reach out well in advance (at least 3 months prior) with your CV and a brief research proposal.
